Ademola, I always told you how much I hated my terrible memory while you seemed to remember almost everything.
We started as teammates. Then we became friends. Later, I became your agent. And years after that, we became partners.
Lately, I’ve been trying to remember when and why you came back to Girona. I remember us walking through the old town together. You stayed at my home and, of course, we went out to eat. Food was always something special to you, bro! I don’t remember where we went that day, maybe to your favorite Japanese place, Umai or maybe we kept it simple with a chicken salad, you never got tired of chicken.
The older I get, the more I realize that I should have taken more photos. A picture of you with my mother, the one who sometimes cooked for you at home when we played together. More photos of you with the Girona fans. Only a few players have ever stolen Girona fans’ hearts in such a short period of time. You always had that lovely smile for them.
I should have taken more photos of you with our best friends in the business. Milan, I still can’t believe we don’t have one picture of all three of us together, not even from that unforgettable Final Four in Berlin, where we had one of the most unbelievable business meetings of our lives.
I should have taken more photos of all your visits to Barcelona, one of the cities you loved most. One of the cities you wanted your woman ,Bintia, to fall in love with. I still remember how proudly you introduced me to her there, the three of us sitting together, drinking cortados and simply enjoying the moment. How beautiful that time was.
Ademola, Years later Bintia brought your children to Barcelona and they all fell in love with it too. I am sure you watched it all from above with that warm smile of yours.
